Kieran Hughes

summary

Graduating in psychology (UCL, 1994) and graphic design (Leeds, 1985), I have worked across a broad range of media - including painting, drawing, print and digital art and design.

My portfolio includes web design, print work and logo design. Plus lots of life drawing and painting. I like to strike a balance between commercial work and fine art. Each gives something different – being able to switch complements and feeds the other.

Work experience includes BBC (1987, 10 years) and BSkyB (1998, 5 years) as a graphic designer in news and current affairs, marketing and entertainment experiencing a wide range of TV genres. Including broadcast experience in Madrid, Washington DC and New York. More recently, I was Design Director for a start-up news channel in the US; developing channel branding, designing and implementing weather graphics and responsible for a team of designers producing on-air, news graphics.

I am currently working on various faith-based educational projects for print, online and new applications.
